Editing the theme.js

Hi there,

I am a web developer working on the Baseline theme, I would like to modify the breakpoints from Splide Slider. I am updating the theme.js file, however the theme.min.js file does not get updated.

I could quick minify my update theme.js but I would like to make sure I will not miss or mess up anything.

The theme.min.js has never been edited before.

My question, can I just minify theme.js into theme.min.js? Or do I need to consider another external files, etc.

Hey Miguel,

I hope you are having a great day.

In this case, you can indeed just minify the theme.js file and replace the existing theme.min.js file.

As a precaution, ensure to create a theme backup before making this change on your end.

Let us know how it goes  .

Thank you very much, yes also have the repo on git.

Have you used any preferred task manager to minify these files?

Thank you for your quick reply!

Hey Miguel,

For minification, our build tool uses uglifyjs with the ‘compress’ and ‘mangle’ options. The tool linked below should do the trick:
https://skalman.github.io/UglifyJS-online/

Additionally, in theory, any minification process that doesn’t change the top-level function names should work well.
